Mayfest

So yesterday we decided to head out to Mayfest. It was cloudy but the weathermen assured us that it would burn off (mostly) by lunch time. By the time we got to Mayfest (around lunchtime), it was raining...a lot. So we headed over to Pappasitos for lunch (yum). They were doing a Cinco de Mayo celebration and Lana was terrified of the balloons - especially the cactus one. We're still not sure why, but she absolutely refused to sit in her high chair and just freaked out. Brent thought it was the music (which was loud), but we quickly figured out it was the balloons. After he finished, Brent took her down closer to the music where they were setting up and she loved walking around and just exploring. By then the rain had let up a bit so we decided to head over to Mayfest to check it out. Lana just loved it.

We went in the petting zoo and Lana touched all of the animals she could.

Then we "rode" a pony (this was just for pictures) and Lana thought that was fun too.

She really liked Elsie and her baby cow (from some dairy company)

and the big pile of sand (better than a sandbox).

The carosel was fun, but she was a little scared of it. It went a lot faster than the ones I remember and longer. Eventually she got tired of it and spend the second half of the ride with me just holding her.

Overall, I think she had a great day, but exhausting one. She came home and slept until we woke her up at like 6ish and went back to sleep for the night by 8.
