San Antonio Trip

We had a great time in San Antonio this weekend. We've been trying to go for almost a year now, but first Ike and then Calli and Brent's pneumonia kept canceling our plans. It was our first "real" family vacation - as in just us and not to visit family/friends. We loved it. Unfortunately, neither Sea World nor Schlitterbahn (a waterpark) were open on Friday since schools are back in session down here. It probably worked out for the best. The girls didn't sleep well at all on the drive down or Thursday night so it was nice to have a quieter day. We hit the outlets near by hoping to find a first-day-of-school outfit, but they only had fall and winter stuff. Still, we got a couple cute things and had fun wandering around.

Saturday, we went to Sea World and the girls LOVED it. There's not a ton for them to do there other than the shows, but they adored the shows. In between shows, we saw penguins, fed dolphins (well, Brent and I fed dolphins while the girls watched), got faces painted, etc. etc. It was great. I don't know which the girls liked better - the dolphin show (Viva) or the Shamu show. Both were great!

Sunday, we headed over to Schlitterbahn, which is a waterpark that everyone raves about. The girls definitely liked it a lot. Maybe not as much as Sea World, but pretty close. They had some great kiddy areas. It was also nice because it was really quiet this weekend with the kids back in school and the second-to-last weekend of the season. They had lots of little slides, dancing water and shallow pools for the girls. Even after a long day at Sea World, the girls were happy to keep going long after I was done. Unfortunately, not too many pics from there. We had most of our stuff (including our camera) in the locker most of the day just so we would have to keep track of it.
