Renaissance Festival - Year 2

Last year, we went to the Renaissance Festival on Lana's birthday. (See this post for last year's trip.) Little did we know we'd be going this year with TWO little girls. We headed down there yesterday and Lana thought the entire thing was the best thing she'd ever seen. She loved all the "princesses", the shows, the animals, getting her face painted and everything else. First stop was in one of the shops that had "princess dresses" and crowns. We got Lana a blue "dress" (leotard and tutu-like skirt) and crown that she picked out for her princess birthday party in a few weeks.

We didn't expect her to want to get her face painted, but we asked if she wanted to and she did. She looks a little nervous, but she sat still the whole time the lady was painting it and loved the heart result. (I think it's even the same girl who painted it last year.)

Here's a few pics of Lana watching a show. The first one we watched was some fools. Lana didn't necessarily understand all their jokes, but she loved the laughing and silly songs.

And she even loved the petting zoo. She was still too scared to touch any of the animals, but she also refused to leave. Maybe next time...

And here's a video of Lana in the petting zoo:

She had a blast just wandering around - finding a shop of swings and a purple bench.

Calli even had fun riding around in the buggy for the first time without her infant seat. She's getting big!

Lana even tried her first ice cream cone. She wasn't too big on the cone, but loved the ice cream as usual.

Of course, Lana refused to sleep in the buggy until we were out in the parking lot. If we knew she was going to fall asleep, we probably would have stayed a bit longer so I could look around. Instead, she slept for all of two minutes walking to the car and then was wide awake the entire drive home and the rest of the day. We put her to bed really early because she was so exhausted (or maybe because we were).

Lana is going to be just like you...loving every festival, party and celebration especially the music and dancing. And you were scared of (but loved)the animals too. Talk about "deja vu all over again!"
