Traveling and Disney Day 1 (lots of pics)

Ok, I know I'm still way behind on my posts, but I know there are people who are dying waiting for these pics (at least the ones who haven't already seen all of Mom's). We flew out entirely too early Tuesday morning. Here are the girls looking for our airplane at the airport.

We were all pretty exhausted when we finally made it (two bus rides and two plane flights later) to the Port Orleans Riverside on the Disney property. Our hotel was beautiful! We had adjoining rooms (thanks to Nana throwing a fit when they first arrived to rooms that were next door to each other but not connecting). That was really nice for when the girls were going to sleep and we wanted to stay up watching TV or reading our books. Anyway, we had a quiet dinner at the resort that night and attempted to get the girls down at at reasonable hour. Calli had an awful night that night but other than that, everyone was doing great.

Wednesday, we started off bright and early. Here are the girls waiting for the bus to our breakfast at Ohana (at the Polynesian Resort) with breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Can you tell how excited they are?? (And yes, it was freezing both our days at Disney - at least it was for Florida.)

Lana was totally terrified of the characters but somehow we did get this pic of Nana, Lana, Calli and me with Mickey.

After that, we took the monorail over to Magic Kingdom, where we spent all of our time.

Thanks to some very quick thinking from Nana, we found out that two or three Princesses did a meet-and-greet from 10-11 or so over in Toontown so we headed straight there. We got in line right away. Lana was so excited but we were nervous she would be too scared again. Nope. She love love loved all the princesses...especially Cinderella (of course). Nana had gotten Lana a little autograph book and pen to help her break the ice with the characters and princesses before we got in. Lana did great bringing her book up and having them sign it (though we had to ask the characters to sign it since she wouldn't go near them...most of the time).

Poor Calli was exhausted and ready for her morning nap, so she screamed through most of the Princesses. She and I took a break for her to eat and go to sleep while Lana, Nana and Daddy explored Minnie's house. Lana loved that too! (Well, she loved almost everything, I think.)

After that, it was on to the Tea Cups for Lana, Daddy, Nana and me while Pop walked Calli around in the buggy.

Then Auntie Maria had requested a picture with Ariel (Little Mermaid) so we went off to her grotto. That line was long and we waited forever right at the front, but it was so worth it. She spent ages just chatting with Lana about what she was doing and where she was from and everything. Lana loved the attention.

After that, we had lunch at Toni's. There was a "pretend" Goofy outside, and Lana was more than happy to sit next to him.

Then we were off for a few more rides including the carousel (which Lana loved so much we had to ride it again on Thursday).

Calli's favorite part of the whole day, though, was probably the shows...or maybe Small World. She just loves music and dancing. She couldn't stop bouncing during Small World and would sit on our shoulders during the parades and shows and just clap and laugh and try to sing along. We were just glad there was something she loved that we could do since she slept through a good bit and spent a lot of time people watching from in the buggy.

Disney Day 2 and Downtown Disney to come next. And there will be a few video posts as soon as I can get them uploaded.

Looks like a great trip! This is an odd observation but I LOVE the floor in that bathroom Cali went in, it's gorgeous, haha.
